Guest View: Demand Facts for Psychiatric Meds

By Richard M. Henley

The 2005 tragic deaths of three East Mountain residents as well as two Albuquerque police officers were NOT the fault of "the wrong drugs being given to a bipolar schizophrenic." They were the fault of this unstable man being put on these very unpredictable psychiatric drugs in the first place. All without any cures, science or biological tests to back up any of the psychiatric labels.
And this time, as with dozens of such instances across the nation, the result was death and destruction. This time it hit close to home. But almost every minute of every day a psychiatric failure or abuse is ruining another family's lives and future.
Why are we allowing these arrogant quacks to practice chemical brain experimentation on our children? Their own top experts admit they have NO objective or medical or chemical tests or results which prove ANY of their diagnoses. When cornered on camera last year their top experts and leaders admitted they have no cures because they "don't know (what) causes mental illness." They also admitted they have no science or proof to back up any of their diagnoses. (See 2005 American Psychiatric Association footage).
Why let them put known dangerous chemicals into our kids' heads? Read the Black Box warning labels, which tell of thousands of cases of suicide, depression, dozens of medical problems and violent behavior.
This is the making of a killer. The psychiatrists involved should be held liable. As they should be liable for some 7 million school children's lives they are ruining with phony ADD, ADHD and some 348 made-up labels which they have NO science to back up and admit they have no proof for. Yet they dispense mind-altering drugs with an unparalleled arrogance, and it affects all of our future generations.
They even have a new drug sales device called Teen Screen which can label virtually anyone with one of their 348 made-up diseases or chemical imbalances— requiring ongoing and expensive "meds." If they take part in this, they get labeled in their permanent school record, and if you DON'T give them these dangerous drugs, you may be guilty of child neglect by social services.
This is a 2 trillion-dollar industry altogether, with ZERO cures. Where is the outcry? With many other states banning such abuse of children, why does New Mexico have a media blackout?
Thousands of horror stories are now on file with the FDA from the testimonies of their victims. Included in these testimonies are the files of virtually EVERY school shooter. Why are we still giving these drugs to our children?
This last year has seen the Black Box labeling of over a dozen of the most common drugs, which have made the pharmaceutical and psychiatric industries over $76 billion in sales last year. Enough money to intimidate or buy off almost any honest inquiry by politicians or media and get any teacher fired who objects.
Wonder why "Johnny can't LAUGH anymore?" Follow the money! Money that could've provided better education and smaller classes now lines the pockets of drug companies and their psychiatric agents.
These drugs are the psychiatric "solutions" to the some 348 made-up, unproven disorders such as: "math disorder," "disobedience disorder" and "reading disorder." Each have a 5-digit number and are listed as if they are real in psychiatry's "billing bible" known as the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual).
The "diseases" in this DSM are simply voted into the book and have no statistics or studies or proof as admitted by their association president, their top DSM task force chairman and their "expert" panel at last year's psychiatric convention.
Yet they prescribe dangerous drugs to 7 million kids in the U.S. and 17 million worldwide, as a panacea to everything from arguing with their parents to falling asleep in class. These drugs are in the same FDA class as cocaine and are sold on the street for the same purpose.
Many states are banning this. Where is New Mexico?
Talk to your kids, they will tell how strange their friends act when the "meds" act up. And once on "their meds," it is hard to kick without depression, suicide and violence to others. These side effects were well-known for over a decade but never acted on publicly until the last 18 months. Yet New Mexico STILL hasn't done anything to stop this abuse of our future generations.
With all the national coverage of school shootings, suicides and FDA Black Box warnings, why is there such a blackout of coverage and debate in New Mexico?
I would appreciate any and all feedback on this from people pro and con on this subject, if you have been victimized by a psychiatrist in any way. Please let other families know too.
For those who want proof of what is written here, there are mountains of it just waiting to be read. Just ask. Please make your voice heard, pro or con, by writing in. We need to get the debate moving ... while our kids still are.
