Edgewood Parade Turned Out Nicely

It would have been easy to be skeptical about a parade being staged in Edgewood along N.M. 344 from Edgewood Elementary School to Wildlife West Nature Park.
The challenges seemed enormous: The two-mile stretch has a hill, there didn't seem to be any place for spectators to park, and keeping nonparade traffic moving seemed impossible.
But the folks at the Edgewood Public Safety Department and the Edgewood Chamber of Commerce shrugged off skepticism and put on a nice parade. The hill turned out not to be too bad for parade entrants, viewing areas turned up in places few had imagined, and traffic moved smoothly. Who could ask for more?
While not as well-attended as Moriarty's Fourth of July Parade, Edgewood showed the promise of a nice annual event that could rival Moriarty's in spectators and entrants.
Congratulations for a job well done!
