    Victim of Fire
    Needs Your Help
    PLEASE HELP!
On Dec. 10 at 2 a.m. our friend, Tom Honea of Prairie Wood Lane in Stanley, lost his home and everything in it to a fire. He has been a longtime friend of this community, living in Stanley for over 20 years. All the tools of his trade were burned in the fire.
Please help if you can by contributing to the Tom Honea Relief Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.

    Toy-Food Run
    Broke Records
THE ORGANIZERS of this year's toy-food run get 'er done.
Thanks to Larry, Elena, Wayne, Sharon, Jeff, Pat and Myrna for getting donations, volunteers and riders to participate for such a good cause. The bikers had a great day for the ride, with two routes to choose from and two lunch areas to pick from.
Although the number of riders may have been down, the donations broke all records for food and toys.
A special thanks to volunteers that helped register, cook and feed the participants and gather the gifts. Thank you to all the businesses and individuals that gave so generously. They are: Pat Roberson, Lou and Colleen Burns, Cecil Blancett, Moriarty Foods, Commercial Tires, Moriarty Pipe & Iron, Stonegate Turf Ranch, Billy Bob's Restaurant, Willard Cantina, May's Pharmacy, Southwest Beauty Salon, Hart's Hardware, Ray's One Stop in Tajique, Valley Express, David and Rita, Margarita's Gallery, Mike Padilla, Mountainair Pump & Save, Blue Ribbon Bar & Grill, Flying A Feeds, Bobby J's Yamaha, and a big high-five for Jim & Betty Summers and the Sanctuary Zone staff for all the hard work that made the event a success.

    Barber Thanks You
    For Your Thoughts
ON OCT. 28, 2007, on Highway 55, Estancia's barber, Larry Bernal, was in a motorcycle accident. He was airlifted to UNM Hospital, where he went through a five-hour surgery. He has a broken arm and leg.
He will be unable to cut hair for a couple of months. "L" Barber Shop will be closed until further notice.
Larry wants to thank all his customers for their loyalty and hopes to see all of them soon. Also thanks to everyone who has called or visited.

    Madrid Makes
    Christmas Magic
MADRID HAS FINALLY been officially designated as NEW MEXICO'S CHRISTMAS TOWN.
I would like to congratulate all of the residents and shops that went all out this year to make Madrid even more magical this holiday season. The Christmas spirit abounds!
I have had a shop in Madrid for 17 years and have never seen such lighting magic here as Christmas approaches. Even some of the old traditions (from the historic coal mining days) of decorating the hills that nestle Madrid, have been resurrected. It is truly worth a stroll down Main Street at dusk and celebrate with us, not only the 25th annual Christmas Open House for the next three weekends but also the title of New Mexico's Christmas Town.
    Happy Holidays!
