    RICHARD CHARLES ALEXANDER
    Richard Charles Alexander, 55, of Moriarty passed away Aug. 12 in his Moriarty home.
    Richard was born July 7, 1951, to Carl and Edith (Hanna) Alexander in Albuquerque. Richard married his loving wife, Nora (Apodaca) Alexander, on Feb. 12, 1972, in Moriarty. He has been a resident of Moriarty since 1970, having previously lived in Socorro. Richard was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Moriarty. Richard will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
    He served his community as a law enforcement officer and chief of police. Richard was a devoted friend, avid fisherman, outdoorsman and camp cook.
    Richard is survived by his wife, Nora Alexander of Moriarty; sons, Marty and wife Jane Alexander of Lafayette, La.; Robert and wife Sheila Alexander of Tullahoma, Tenn.; and James and wife Jill Alexander of Tustin, Calif.; daughter, Rebecca and husband Tracy Alexander-Peruch of Scottsdale, Ariz.; brothers, Robert Alexander of Milan, N.M., and Tommy Alexander of Las Cruces; and six grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents.
    A memorial service was held Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Moriarty.
    Arrangements for cremation entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, Moriarty.
    BARRY MELVIN CRIDER
    Barry Melvin Crider, 68, of Torreon passed away Aug. 9 in Torreon.
    Barry was born March 5, 1938, in Ewing, N.M., to Clint and Josie Crider.
    Barry attended Ewing Grade School and Estancia High School. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1960. He made a career in drilling and blasting, constructing roads and dams in various states. He also farmed and raised cattle most of his life.
    He is survived by his beloved wife, Lydia A. Crider; his daughter, Lydia A. and husband David Merck; his son, Brian M. and wife Judy Crider; grandchildren, Nicole Merck, Brian A. Crider and Tori Crider; stepsons, Dr. Daniel Vigil and wife Maria, and Charlie Vigil and wife Pam; his brother, Rev. Tommy G. Crider and wife Betty; his niece, DeVonna Cummins and husband Brett and their children, Conner and Makala; nephew Darin Crider; and a vast family of friends.
    Barry was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Brandi Crider; and sister-in-law Linda Crider.
    Funeral Services were held Friday at the First Assembly of God Church in Estancia. Interment was at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday with Rev. Michael Dominguez officiating.

    WILLIAM FREDERICK FONDY
    William Frederick Fondy, 66, of Mountainair passed away Aug. 12 at his Mountainair home.
    William was born March 18, 1940, to Frederick Franklin and Helen (Grisvard) Fondy in Seattle, Wash. William married Dorothy Brazfield on April 1, 1967, in Roswell. He had been a resident of Mountainair for four years.
    He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Fondy; son, Richard W. Fondy; sisters, Beverly Stevenson and Carolyn Herring; and four grandchildren, Maceala, Aaron, Mariah and Aubrianna.
    William was preceded in death by his parents.
    A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary-Chapel in Mountainair.

    CAYETANO CHAVEZ SR.
    Cayetano Chavez Sr., 74, of Moriarty passed away on Aug. 14 at his Moriarty home.
    Cayetano was born on April 1, 1932, to Antonio and Flora Chavez in Palma, N.M. He had been a resident of Moriarty for 74 years and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. He married the love of his life, Celeste Chavez, on Oct. 13, 1952, in Mountainair.
    He is survived by his wife, Celeste Chavez of Moriarty; son, Cayetano Chavez Jr. of Moriarty; daughters, Gloria and husband Andy Winn of Edgewood, Verna Chavez and fiancé Bruce Jones of Moriarty, Linda and husband Walter Wilcox of Moriarty, Rosemary and husband Carl Wilcox of Moriarty, Dora and husband Kenny Poyner of Moriarty; brothers, Toby Chavez and Jack Chavez; sisters, Maggie Chavez and Mary Frances Chavez; 20 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
    Cayetano was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tony, Frank, Ramon, Henry, Able and Juan; and sisters, Eloisa and Mary.
    A rosary was recited on Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. Mass will be today at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty. Father William Young will officiate.
