      MARQUERITTE V. HAND
       Marqueritte V. Hand, 85, of Corona passed away May 5 in Albuquerque.
       Marqueritte was born on June 5, 1923, in Mosquero, N.M., to Roscoe and Minnie (Osborn) Hames. Marqueritte married Dewey Hand on March 21, 1939, who preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; children, Becky Littleton; Dewey Leroy Hand; sister, Mary Hand; grandson, Doug Riley and great granddaughter, Ashley Smith. Marqueritte is survived by her daughters, Carolan Riley; Ruthie Chadborn and husband Gene; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
       A graveside funeral service was held on May 9 at the Corona Cemetery with Cal West officiating. Pallbearers were Walter Gensler, Sam Seeley, Dewey Chadborn, Glenn Chadborn, Robbie Smith and Billy Chadborn.

       RICHARD WADE JAMES
       Richard Wade James, 55, of Stanley passed away on May 5 at his home in Stanley.
       Richard was born on Feb. 11, 1953, in Albuquerque to John Willard James Jr. and Frances Lee Mitchell. Richard married Sherry Lee McClellan on Feb. 14, 1999, in Reno, Nev., He was preceded in death by his father. Richard is survived by his mother, Frances Lee Brown; wife Sherry L. McClellan; sons, Richard James Jr. and wife Zara; John W. Miller; Timothy D. Miller; Jim Thomas Kolster and wife Emily; Wayne A. Kolster and wife Heather; daughters, Jennette Mass; Esperanza Alicia Kolster; brother, Miles Brown; sisters, Victoria Edwards; Lori James; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held on May 8 at Stanley Union Church, Pastor Richard Hyman and LDS Branch President Virgil Higgins officiated. Interment followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hall, Richard James Jr., John Hall, Miles Brown, Frank Brown and Kenneth Edwards.

       JAMES E. DAUGHERTY JR.
       James E. Daugherty Jr., 51, of Moriarty passed away May 7 at his home.
       James was born March 2, 1957, to James E. Daugherty Sr. and Helen (Smith) in Albuquerque. James was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister, Vonda Lee Cammack. Interment will take place Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe. No services will be held. Harris-Hanlon Mortuary
      
       VICTORIA “VICKI” PULIS-CONNELLEY
       Victoria “Vicki” Pulis-Connelley, 60, of Edgewood passed away on May 9 at her home in Edgewood.
       Vicki was born on March 18, 1948, in Snowflake, Ariz., to Densil and Viola (Foshee) Smith. Vicki married Rad Connelley on Oct. 6, 1990. She was preceded in death by her parents. Vicki is survived by her husband Rad Connelley of Edgewood; son, Jerry Pulis of Albuquerque; brothers, John Godwin of Tuscon, Ariz.; Robert Epley of Colorado; sisters, Shar Lynn Oswalt and husband Larry of Sand Springs, Okla.; Judy Strikland and husband Steve of Truth or Consequences, and four granddaughters, Andrea; Tamryn; Ashley and Jayda. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 15 at 6 p.m. at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Moriarty.

       JAMES L. YATES
       James L. Yates, 56, a loving husband, father, son and friend passed away suddenly on April 27 in Ada, Okla.
       A long time resident of Edgewood, Jim was born in Roswell on Sept. 27, 1951, and most recently worked for the Chickasaw Nation in Oklahoma.
       A private memorial service was held in Ada, Okla., on April 30. He was preceded in death by his sister Shirlie Groves. He is survived by his wife; Linda Yates; son, Kasey Yates; stepchildren, Adam Fulton, Michael Pierce, Elizabeth Pierce; sister, Sue Lynn and husband Rick Jordan; two nieces, Rachel Wilson, Natalie Rademacher; nephew, Isaac Groves; his parents, Rev. Charles and Jean Yates of Edgewood.
      
       TOMASITA JARAMILLO
       Tomasita Jaramillo, 88, went home to be with Our Lord on May 10 surrounded by her loving family, who gave her love, compassion and care during her final days.
       She was the first of five generations; she was born and raised in Sedillo.
       Survived by her sons; Alex Sr. and wife Nancy, Bobby and wife Cora, and Jerry Jaramillo; daughters: Chris E. Crutiza Christy, Wilma Garcia and husband Thomas Sr., Alma Jaramillo, Rita Brown and husband Roy, Geneva Brown and husband Johnny, Marylin Garcia and husband Carlos, and Christine Jaramillo and fiancé Steve Sanchez; daughter-in-laws: Sally Jaramillo, and Georgeanna Perez and son-in-law Bobby Otero, 29 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and 12 God children; niece Veronica Caldwell.
       Tomasita also leaves behind numerous other loving family members and friends who love and will miss her dearly. Tomasita was preceded in death by her husband Felix Jaramillo and many other beloved family members. Tomasita was a member of the San Isidro Holy Catholic Parish. She served as Mayordoma during 1990-1991. Tomasita continually dedicated her life as housewife and homemaker raising all their children.
       She also assisted her mother, Susanna Jaramillo with her midwife, and partera-homeopathic practices. She also assisted in maintaining the one-room school house in Sedillo during her school days. She assisted in building the community church, San Isidro Parish. She participated in the senior citizen centers and worked during the election polls for many years.
       A viewing was held on May 13 at San Isidro Holy Catholic Parish in Sedillo. A rosary was recited on May 13 at Holy Child Parish Catholic Church in Tijeras. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on May 14 at Holy Child Parish Catholic Church in Tijeras. Burial followed at the San Isidro Catholic Cemetery in Sedillo. Pallbearers were Freddy Jaramillo, Phillip Otero, David Brown, Gilbert Jaramillo Sr., Joshua Brown, Chuck Christy, Robert Otero, Cimmeron Christy, Anthony Jaramillo, Jennifer Garcia, Felicia Garcia and Vincente Garcia.
      
      
       CAROLYN ELIZABETH WELLS
       Carolyn Elizabeth Wells, 73, of Claunch passed away on May 12 in Albuquerque with her loving family beside her.
       Carolyn was born on Oct. 20, 1934, in Mountainair to Harry and Ruth (Speckman) Dils. Carolyn married Bill Wells on May 31, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Walter Dils and John Lawrence Dils; grandchildren, Amber D'aun Langley and Danny Wells. Carolyn was survived by her husband Bill Wells of Claunch; sons, Ken Wells and wife Marti of Las Cruces; Wendell Wells and wife Jimmie of Claunch; Jeff Wells and wife Carol of Dolores, Colo.; daughters, Barbara Langley and husband Allen of High Rolls, N.M.; Rhonda Zurcher and husband Jeff of Battle Ground, Wash.; brother, Charley Dils; sisters, Harriett Dowdy; Martha Dowdy; Dorothy Hendrick; 18 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and Numerous nieces and nephews.
       A viewing was held on May 14 at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Mountainair. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 15, at 10 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Mountainair; Ray Wells, Colby Wells and Benny Johnson will be officiating. Burial will follow at the White Lakes Cemetery in Gran Quivira, N.M. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dewayne Langley, Branden Langley, Jason Harkey, Joe Ray Wells, Lance Wells Lucas Wells, Terrel Wells and Manny Aragon. Honorary Pallbearers are John McKibben, Alvie McKibben, John Maxwell and Tony Scaccia.

       CONSUELO (CONNIE) SANCHEZ
       Conseuelo (Connie) Sanchez, 61, went to with our Lord on May 12.
       She was preceded in death by her parents; Claudio and Carlota Sanchez; four brothers, Henry, Celedonio, Demecio and twin brother, Ray Sanchez; two sisters, Anita and Leonore Gonzales.
       She is survived by her brother Armando Sanchez and wife Debbie of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Edwina Figueroa of San Antonito, Frances Garcia, and Dorothy Maritez and husband Odilio of Carnuel. She had numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
       A rosary will be held at the San Antonio Church on May 24 at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held after the rosary at the old San Antonio Cemetery. The pall bearer will be Adrienne Garcia. May she rest in peace.
