    A new Overeaters Anonymous meeting is being held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays in the East Mountain Library study room.

    South Mountain
    To Host Carnival
    South Mountain Elementary School will host a fall carnival on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.
    The event will include food and games, cotton candy, popcorn, a jumpy castle, face painting, a warm winter raffle, hayrides, a photo booth and more— lots of fun activities for the whole family.
    Antiques Store
    Has Open House
    Austin-Ford Antiques in Stanley will host a holiday open house on Friday and Saturday.
    The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the shop 10 miles north of Moriarty on the east side of N.M. 41.

    Expo N.M. Shows
    Artwork by Vets
    The New Mexico Veterans Art 10th Anniversary Exhibit will display artwork by veterans, active duty military and reservists at the Expo New Mexico Fine Arts Building.
    The free exhibit, with public opening ceremonies at 7 p.m. on Friday, features paintings, drawings, prints, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and more.
    The exhibit continues Wednesdays and Thursdays through Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Rotary Pheasant
    Hunt Is Saturday
    The third annual Moriarty Rotary Club Youth Pheasant Hunt is scheduled for Saturday.
    The day will include a firearm familiarization and safety overview, clay shooting and the pheasant hunt, as well as lunch. Youths will also learn to clean birds.
    The event will start at 8 a.m. at the Shiver Ranch at N.M. 41 and Dinkle Road north of Moriarty.
    Age groups are 8-11, 12-15 and 16-18. Children 7 and younger can participate in BB gun familiarization and shooting.
    Firearms and ammunition will be provided— participants should not bring their own guns. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
    Participants also must have their hunter education card to participate in the actual pheasant hunt. Those without cards can take part in the familiarization sessions and clay shooting but cannot shoot a pheasant.

    Mountain Angels
    Bazaar Saturday
    Holy Child Parish in Tijeras will host the Mountain Angels Bazaar on Saturday.
    The event, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., will feature hand-crafted items, baked goods, hot food, door prizes and more.
    Cabaret Benefits
    Inn, Playhouse
    The Enchanted Rose Inn & Theatre LLC will present "Enchanted Holiday Cabaret," an evening of music and fun, on Saturday at the Albuquerque Little Theater.
    All proceeds will go toward the Enchanted Rose Inn & Theatre, a bed and breakfast inn and theatrical playhouse expected to open in Cedar Crest in late 2008, according to a news release.
    Saturday's event will start with a private catered reception and silent auction at 6 p.m. followed by the show at 8 p.m. Tickets for all events are $32, and tickets for the performance only are $22.

    Free Food Boxes
    Coming in Nov.
    The Bethel Community Storehouse in Moriarty will distribute holiday food boxes to low- and no-income families and individuals Tuesday through Friday throughout the month of November.
    Food boxes will be distributed from noon to 3:45 p.m. Requirements are proof of income or a qualified referral, picture ID and proof of residency such as a current bill.
