Golf Package Gets a Good Score

Journal Staff Report
New Mexico's Golf on the Santa Fe Trail, an eight-course vacation package that includes a course in the East Mountains, has been named by Golf magazine as one of the best golf trails in the United States, the state Tourism Department says.
The program received four out of five possible stars for ambience, challenge and value, according to "Happy Trails," written by Joe Passov, the magazine's architecture and course-ranking editor, in the May issue.
Passov ranked Golf on the Santa Fe Trail as one of "the four best multistop shops for your next golf trip," selected from more than 40.
The eight courses on the trail are: Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Course, UNM Championship Golf Course, Isleta Eagle Golf Course, Santa Ana Golf Club, Twin Warriors Golf Club, Black Mesa Golf Club, Sandia Golf Club and Towa Golf Resort.
The clustering of the courses around Albuquerque-Santa Fe means that no course is more than 90 minutes from any other. Most are less than 30 minutes apart.
Golf on the Santa Fe Trail offers packaging online at santafetrailgolf.com or by phone (800) 465-3660. Twin Warriors, Sandia and Towa have hotels.
The other trails in the top four of Golf magazine were the Idaho Golf Trail, Audubon Trail, and Alabama's Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
