The event will run from 1-4 p.m. at Tinkertown, about a mile west of N.M. 14 on the Sandia Crest Highway.
Damler, who wrote "Ten Years Behind The Mast: The Voyage of the Theodora R," is the brother of Tinkertown owner Carla Ward.
Damler will speak about his voyage and sign copies of the book at the East Mountain Library in Tijeras on Saturday from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
After a decade of sailing and unable to sell the Theodora R, Damler brought the boat to the East Mountains, where he and Tinkertown founder Ross Ward used a crane to lift it into place behind the quirky museum. It has been there since 1994.
