    Anyone Can Play
    Bingo in Moriarty
    The Moriarty Lions Club invites the public to its regular weekly bingo nights at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the new Lions Club building at 515 Lions Court, off North Broadway in Moriarty.
    Bingo nights feature a new menu, new games and more regular bingos.
    Hospice Looking
    For Volunteers
    Heartland Hospice is seeking compassionate and responsible volunteers to serve in Albuquerque and surrounding communities. The volunteers support terminally ill people and their families with visits, relief sitting and errand running.

    Moriarty Schools
    Offer Screenings
    The Moriarty Municipal Schools district provides free developmental screenings for children ages 2 through 5.
    The screenings look at how children are thinking, walking, talking, learning, hearing, seeing and getting along with others. The results will let parents know their children's strengths and potential needs.
    The Moriarty school district also offers preschool classes and services for 3- and 4-year-olds with special needs based on screening results.

    Cariño Program
    Helps Families
    The YWCA's Cariño program offers library checkout of children's toys, books, videos and other learning resources at two area outlets each month.
    The program features items for children from infancy through school age, as well as resources to help with parenting and other family issues.
    The Cariño program is at the Moriarty Community Library from 8:30 to 11 a.m., and at Mountainair Elementary School from noon to 2 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month.
    The program is available to anyone 18 or older.
    Cariño offers referrals to help families find child care, as well as training for parents and child-care professionals and on-site assistance and support.

    Program Covers
    Homeownership
    The SER de New Mexico Homeownership Program offers a six-hour information program in homeownership on the fourth Saturday of every month.
    The sessions run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the SER office at 811 Old Route 66, between Wells Fargo Bank and Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in the old H Realty office.
    The first segment will discuss credit reports— how to read them and how to correct the information in them. Next will be a look at budgeting. The last section will examine mortgages, grants and predatory lending.
    Participants are welcome to come for two, four or six hours. Those completing the six-hour series will receive a certificate.

    Adults Get Help
    Going to School
    The University of New Mexico's Educational Opportunity Center has opened an office in Moriarty at the Chamber of Commerce Building.
    The EOC is designed to help adults go back to school at any level.
    The office will serve Torrance County and the Estancia Valley with free services and referrals to GED programs, financial aid information, college information, personal counseling, informational presentations and more.
