          Energy Tax Credit Seminar Today
        The Estancia Valley Economic Development Association will host a energy efficiency and renewable energy tax credit seminar today at 6:30 p.m. at the Moriarty Civic Center.
        The seminar will feature Kathy McCormick of the New Mexico Economic Development Department; Michael McDiarmid of the state Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, Energy Conservation and Management Division; Brad Hill, executive director, Foundation for Building New Technology for residential construction; and Timothy Leonard, corporate member and former vice president of the Renewable Energy Industry Association of New Mexico and owner of Precision Solar Energy Applications.
        Homeowners, businesses, contractors and community leaders are all encouraged to attend.
        Each speaker will conduct a question-and-answer session after his or her presentation.
        Enjoy Family Fun Day at First Baptist
        The First Baptist Church of Tijeras will be hosting a Family Fun Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The church will be serving up hot dogs, hamburgers, fun, games and music. Everything is free.
        The event will be held at the future church site near the cement plant. Follow the signs from the current site at N.M. 337 and Old Route 66.
        Know Your Geology Of the Sandias?
        The Friends of the Sandia Mountains are sponsoring a lecture entitled "Geology of the Sandia Mountains" Saturday at 2 p.m.
        Guest lecturer Mike Linden will give a rundown of the rock and land formations of the Sandias.
        The free lecture will take place at the Sandia Ranger Station in Tijeras.
        Mounted Shooting Contest in Moriarty
        Western Shooting Horse, a Tijeras-based national shooting horse sports magazine, will host the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association Labor Day Classic at the Moriarty Heritage Rodeo Arena in Moriarty on Saturday and Sunday.
        The event will feature a six-stage Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association-sanctioned double points competition, with the main match stages being shot on Saturday and Sunday. A two-stage Eliminator as well as a rifle competition will also take place on Saturday.
        The Labor Day Classic will start with stage one and two of the main match on Saturday at 5 p.m., followed immediately by the two-stage Eliminator and one of the rifle stages. Stages three through six begin at 10 on Sunday followed by stage two of the rifle competition. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend. There are no spectator entry or parking fees.

        Arts Fest Show At Aspects of Clay
        The Mountain Arts Fest is holding an event on Labor Day weekend, Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Aspects of Clay, 12469 N.M. 14 at the Sandia Crest Byway.
        More than 30 artists will show their unique creations covering all mediums: pottery, jewelry, handcrafted furniture, painting, sculpture, fabric art, woodworking and many others.
