          EMHS Holds Night Under the Stars
        The East Mountain High School Foundation's Eighth Annual Night Under the Stars Gala will be held Saturday at the Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Course from 6 to 10 p.m.
        The event will include a light buffet, cash bar and music by the school's World Percussion Ensemble, silent auction and a million-dollar prize for a hole-in-one shot on the golf course. Tickets are $40 per person and $75 per couple. For more information, call Lori Webster, development director for the charter school, at 281-7400 ext. 166.
        Sunflower Festival Set for Saturday
        The Mountainair Sunflower Festival will be held Saturday.
        The event, sponsored by the Manzano Mountain Arts Council, will include a crafts fair, flea market, farmers' market, gallery exhibits, raffle and silent auction, a sunflower hat contest and a chili cookoff.
        There also will be live music and poetry readings as well as the 11th Annual Poets and Writers Picnic and the Shaffer Hotel.

        Edgewood Festival Showcases Artists
        A juried, multimedia art exhibit will be featured at the Edgewood Celebration & Harvest Festival, Saturday and Sunday.
        Participating artists are: Diane Buster, Thais Haines, Carolyn Lindsey, Jane Mahon, Deb Matthew, Albert Noyer, Becky Ramotowski, Katy Widger and Dawn Young. The show will be at Wildlife West Nature Park.

        Don't Miss Big Rummage Sale
        The San Pedro Neighborhood Association will be holding its big rummage sale on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the site on the empty lot north of Mr. Gas Mart in Edgewood.
        Proceeds from this sale fund community projects in the San Pedro neighborhood.
        Book Sale Held At Edgewood Library
        The Edgewood Community Library will hold a book sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
        Proceeds from the sale benefit the library. The sale will be at the library located off Old Route 66 just east of the Autozone in Edgewood.

        Benefit Sunday For Ill Resident
        A special fundraiser to benefit Sue Griffin will be held Sunday at the Carnuel Land Grant club on Old Route 66.
        Griffin, a longtime East Mountains resident and employee at the old Bella Vista Restaurant, has been dealing with cancer and other medical ailments.
        The benefit will feature music from the bands "Just Us" and "Triple X" as well as food.
        The event will start at 1 p.m. and last until 5 p.m.
