      Dinner To Fund Political Forum
To fund a political forum before Torrance County's November 2008 general election, Concerned Citizens Inc. and Los Ranchos Grandes y Encantados Property Owners Association are holding an Italian dinner and silent auction Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the McIntosh Community Center.
       The dinner includes a dessert and iced tea or coffee and music by La Rondalla de Albuquerque. Tickets are $10 per person or $5 for children 10 and under.

       Fire-Making Demo At Tijeras Pueblo
The Sandia Ranger District's “Sunday Afternoon at Tijeras Pueblo” will continue on Sunday with a fire-making demonstration.
       Participants will learn traditional techniques for making fire from Sean Gantt. Participants will learn the bow drill method for building a fire.
       The demonstration will be held from 1 to 3 p.m.
       
       Fill a Bag With Books for Just $2
The Edgewood Community Library will hold a “special $2 a bag” book sale on Saturday.
       The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library located just east of the Autozone in Edgewood.

       Wildflowers Walk To Tree Springs
See what's blooming in the Sandia Mountains. Celebrating Wildflowers walks are held every Saturday and meet at 9 a.m. at the Sandia Ranger Station, east of N.M. 337 (South 14) in Tijeras.
       The guided walk this Saturday is to Tree Springs.
       There is a $3 fee for parking but the walk itself is free.
       Call the ranger station at 281-3304 for more information about the length and difficulty of the hike.
