      Bureau Sponsors Firearm Safety
       The Torrance County Farm and Livestock Bureau will sponsor a special event on dealing with firearms safety and laws on agricultural lands on May 10 at the McIntosh Community Center.
       Donn Gallahue , a certified NRA firearms instructor, will lead the event.
       It will start at 2 p.m., and an ice cream social will follow at 3 p.m. The Farm Bureau Youth Association will show the movie “Cowbells” for children.
       The event is free.
      
       Training Program At Roosevelt
       A training about homeowners associations, theft and fire prevention, and homeland security is scheduled May 10 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Roosevelt Middle School. The program will be taught by the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department, Bernalillo County Fire Department, along with the East Mountain Interagency Fire Protection Association and the U.S. Forest Service.
       Anti-Auto Theft Program on Tap
       An auto theft prevention day will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 24 in the village of Tijeras Municipal Complex parking lot. The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department and Albuquerque Police Department will be on hand to discuss theft prevention, as well as provide a theft prevention service: etching vehicle identification numbers onto car windows.
      
       'Narnia' To Open With Fun Events
       The movie “Narnia: Prince Caspian” will open May 16 at the United Artists High Ridge movie theater, with fun and games to mark the arrival of the second installment in the “Chronicles of Narnia” series.
       There will be displays from the Rio Grande Zoo and Albuquerque library system. A medieval group will be staging performances in the parking lot.
       The High Ridge theater is on Indian School at Tramway in Albuquerque.
