Open House Marks Morgan's Move

Morgan Oriental Medicine is celebrating its move to Marietta Court, next to Mail and Copy Center in Edgewood with an open house on Friday.

Dr. Ann Morgan has expanded her clinic to include two other practitioners. They are Vicki Rahal, massage therapist and certified kinesiologist, and Linda Kilgore, certified kinesiologist. The practice now has four treatment rooms and 1,200 square feet of space. Workshops in yoga and Qi Gong classes could be offered soon.

The open house will be held at the new location from 4 to 6 p.m.

'Coyote' Auditions Through Saturday

Auditions for the East Mountain Community Theatre's production of "Coyote's Christmas Carol" will be held today, Friday and Saturday.

The show will be presented Dec. 4 through Dec. 7.

Auditions for children ages 6 and up are at 6:30 p.m. today and Friday at East Mountain High School. Callbacks will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the school.

Literacy Program Hosts Bingo Night

The Read "Write" Adult Literacy Program is having a special bingo night Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Moriarty Lions Club.

There will be prizes, food and a raffle to benefit the literacy program.

Small Farm Trade Show in Moriarty

The Second Annual New Mexico Small Farm Conference and Trade Show will be held at the Moriarty Civic Center Friday and Saturday.

The objective of the conference is to focus in on small-scale agricultural producers of the state by presenting an educational program tailored to their needs.

The event includes exhibitor booths, demonstrations, workshops and speakers, which will be talking on a variety of agricultural subjects. The exhibit area will include research, commercial and educational displays.

Exhibitors still have a chance to sign up by contacting Gene Winn at the Torrance County Cooperative Extension Office at 246-4743.

See Dinner Show At Wildlife West

The East Mountain Community Theatre continues its Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, "Murder on the Turquoise Trail," on Friday and Saturday at Wildlife West Animal Park in Edgewood.

The dinner shows cost $30 for adults, $25 for students and seniors, and $15 for children under age 12. Ticket price includes entry into the park.

The barn is open at 6 p.m. for each performance. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and the shows start at 7 p.m.

'Walk To Save A Life' on Saturday

The annual Walk to Save a Life, Save a Pet will be held Saturday in Edgewood.

Check-in for the walk starts at 8:30 a.m. and starts at 9 a.m.

Entry fee is $15 and $5 for walkers ages 12 and under.

The walk will start at the Edgewood Chamber of Commerce at 1916 Old Route 66 in Edgewood.

Funds raised will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, animal rescue organizations, the town of Edgewood Parks and Recreation Department and the Edgewood Animal Control Department.

Williams Library Holds Open House

Williams Memorial Library in Estancia will have an open house on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. to continue their yearlong celebration of 100 years of library service to the community.

The first library in Estancia was in the reading room of the Methodist Church in 1908, said Elaine Ramsey, head librarian.

Staff will serve cider, lemonade, cookies, muffins and a birthday cake.

Photo Exhibit At Santo Niño Church

The East Mountain Historical Society will display its photographic exhibit of the East Mountains villages and how they have looked over the last century starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the historic church in Tijeras.

The public is invited inside the historic Santo Niño Church to view the historical society's photo exhibit of life in the East Mountains, from its earliest history through the era of land grants and the origins of Route 66 to the era of health seekers, through fiestas and the churches of the East Mountains villages.

Those interested in the society are welcome to attend. Refreshments and musical entertainment will be provided.

Peace Festival At EMHS on Saturday

A group of East Mountain high school students have organized a community Peace Festival to be held on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the school's newly opened gymnasium (a facility that is shared with Vista Grande Community Center).

The festival, created as part of class titled Creativity & Social Justice, will feature an eclectic mix of art, poetry and music accompanied by food, face-painting and henna.
