       Bernalillo County Commissioner Wayne Johnson is holding a community meeting at the Deputy James McGrane Jr. Public Safety Complex in Tijeras on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m.

        The meeting is an update on what is new with county departments as well as community and neighborhood association developments.
        The public safety complex is on the west side of N.M. 337, just south of Old Route 66.

      The Supreme Court of New Mexico invites residents of Torrance County and surrounding areas to attend the grand opening of the renovated magistrate courthouse in Moriarty.

        The event will take place at the court at 1100 Old Route 66 on Feb. 24 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
        The public is invited to take a look at the renovated courthouse and staff will be conducting guided tours.

      EMIFPA will hold a live field exercise for emergency responder agencies to practice wildfire fighting procedures and techniques.

        This field day exercise also will have a workshop for East Mountains residents at Roosevelt Middle School.
        The focus of this workshop will be “Aware and Prepared.”
        The workshop will last all day from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Registration for this workshop is required because space is limited. You must contact Sue at 761-5446 or sue.hansen@nm.nacdnet.net to register.

       The annual Mountainair Farm and Garden Meeting will be held Feb. 25 at Mountain Arts on Broadway at 4 p.m.

        The purpose of the meeting is to inform the public and vendors planning to participate in upcoming markets.

       Mountain Valley Church wants to help everyone deal with winter by holding a luau on Feb. 26 at 1 p.m.

       Everyone is invited to the party which will include a pig roasted Hawaiian style, entertainment, and loud Hawaiian shirts and shorts. There will be jumpers and large inflatables for the kids to play on. There is also be live music, dancing, and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

       Mountain Valley Church is located at the corner of Dinkle Road and Mountain Valley Road, north of Interstate 40.

       Sunday services are at 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. The luau begins at 1 p.m. If you have questions, please check the website at www.mountainvalley.org or call 281-5566.
