Google Inc, which confirmed today that it bought the unmanned-aircaft company Titan Aerospace of Moriarty for an undisclosed price, plans to build a 60,000-square-foot plant at the Moriarty Municipal Airport, Moriarty Mayor Ted Hart told the Journal.

Titan, which makes solar-powered unmanned aircraft that can stay aloft for up to five years, has been based at the Moriarty airport since 2012, where it employs 20 people.

The company will keep its headquarters in Moriarty, where Titan CEO Vern Raburn will continue to run the firm. Google will use the drones to add more aerial technology to collect images and get more of the world’s population online, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the Titan sale today.
