LUCIANO TAFOYA

Luciano Tafoya, 79, of Edgewood peacefully passed away in Albuquerque on Sunday, March 3, 2013. Luciano was born Dec. 16, 1933, in Escobosa, N.M., to Benjamin and Frances Tafoya. Luciano was a longtime resident of Edgewood. He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Frances Tafoya; wife, Kathy Tafoya; son Freddy Tafoya; brother Alfredo Tafoya; and two sisters, Louisa Muller and Eduvigen Baca. He is survived by his sons Steven Tafoya of Albuquerque, Benjamin Tafoya and his wife Maryann of Rio Rancho, Herman Tafoya and his wife Cathy of Albuquerque, and Victor Tafoya of Houston, Texas; daughters Helen Casaus of Albuquerque, Gloria Baldwin and her husband Ralph of Albuquerque, Frances Cawthon and her husband Jamie of Glendale, Ariz., Molly Tafoya and her husband Ricky of Moriarty and Mary Tafoya and her husband John of Edgewood; brother Santiago Tafoya; sister Maria Baca; and 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty at 11 a.m.

CLYDE SAMUEL WILBORN

Clyde Samuel Wilborn, 83, of McIntosh peacefully passed away in Albuquerque on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Clyde was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Nuyaka, Okla., to Samuel Harrison and Lou Ella (Beasley) Wilborn. Clyde married Nellie Juanita Perry on Nov. 28, 1952. They've lived in McIntosh for the past 33 years, having previously lived in Albuquerque. Clyde was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one daughter. Clyde is survived by his wife Nellie Juanita Wilborn of McIntosh; daughter Penne Elwell and her husband John of Las Cruces; brother Frank Wilborn; sister Ethel Blair and her husband James; granddaughter Michelle Lynne Johnson and her husband Travis and great-grandson Barron Rome Johnson. There was a graveside service at Santa Fe National Cemetery on March 13 with Pastor Dave Goodnight officiating. IRENE REYNOLDS

Irene Reynolds passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was born Nov. 3, 1924, on the border of Texas and Oklahoma to Lon and Esther Shinn. She was the middle of three children: Clayton, her older brother, and Sally, her younger sister. Irene married Allen Reynolds in 1944. They were married for 63 years before his passing in October 2007. Irene is survived by her daughter, Bonnie McMurray of Tijeras; her son, Patrick Reynolds and wife, Mary Ann of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Sheri Barajas, Laurie Clark, Patrick Reynolds, Jr. and Joshua Reynolds; and six great-grandchildren. Al and Irene started Reynolds Auto Service in 1958. She made many friends over the years. One friend said "she didn't come here to lie around" and that's certainly true. Remembering her greeting of "Hello, Honey," said with a Texas twang, we now send her off with "Goodbye , Honey!" She was loved and will be missed. A memorial service was held for Irene on March 11 at French-University.

EDNA ESCHBERGER

Edna Eschberger, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. She was born March 26, 1918 in the small town of Troup, Texas., to Linder and Elmer Webb. She was raised there in East Texas, where she met Sonny. They were married in 1935 and two years later, Yvonne was born. They moved to New Mexico in the late 1930s, where they lived close to Round Top. In 1943, Tommy was born and 21 months later came Billie. Edna and Sonny worked alongside each other in the bean fields until the drought forced them to find other ways of providing for their family.

In the mid-1960s, they moved to Mountainair. Edna worked at various jobs including the Ray Shockey Bean elevator, Mountainair Public Schools cafeteria, and her personal business of house cleaning. Edna loved gardening, yard work, her chickens and cooking. She was known for the daily lunches made for her family, and her beautiful yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Eschberger; daughter, Billie Sullenger; siblings, Albert Webb, Corene Wright, Lucille Fuller, John D. Webb, Thomas Webb, J.T. Webb, Corene Wright, Lucille Fuller, John D. Webb, Thomas Webb, J.T. Webb, Eugene Webb, and grandson, Lewis Farmer.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Farmer of Bosque Farms; son, Tommy Eschberger and wife Judy of Mountainair; grandson, Wayne Farmer and wife Kris of Aztec; granddaughters, Darla Chavez and fiancé Anthony Archuleta of Los Lunas, Tammy Zamora and husband Larry, and Lynnelle Chavez and husband Andrew, both of Mountainair; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Stange and husband Stephen, Jessica Farmer, Kaitlyn Farmer, Kayli Farmer, Gabriel Chavez and wife Janelle, Adam Chavez, Vincent Zamora, Victor Zamora, Justin Farmer, and Aurelleia Chavez and Talon Chavez; caregiver, Dorothy Ward; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held March 11, at the First Assembly of God Church in Mountainair with Pastor Darrell Roberts officiating. Burial followed at Mountainair Cemetery. Pallbearers were Danny McNiel, Vincent Zamora, Victor Zamora, Justin Farmer, Wayne Farmer and Adam Chavez. Honorary pallbearers were other family and friends.

ANA TAFOYA PERALTA

Ana Tafoya Peralta, 86, of Mountainair passed away on March 9, 2013, in Albuquerque. Ana was born April 14, 1926, in Elchato, N.M., to Erineo and Juanita (Jaramillo) Tafoya. Ana was a lifetime resident of Mountainair. She was a member of St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair. She was employed with the Torrance County Senior Citizens as a cook at the Mountainair and Manzano centers. Not only was Ana "Annie" Peralta an outstanding mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was also a great community member, one who touched many lives during her time at the Senior Citizen Center. She was recognized for training youth, working with people with physical and mental limitations/disabilities, and the comfort that she brought to the elderly people she served. Annie was also an avid reader and loved to collect pretty wrapping paper. Ana was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas Peralta, who died in 1992; brothers Alex Tafoya and Isidro Tafoya; sister Carolina Herrera; great-great grandson Traven Meeker; She is survived by her sons Ralph Tafoya and Johnny Peralta of Mountainair; daughters Geri Overall and Toni Tafoya of Albuquerque and Marcella Peralta of Mountainair; sister Lucy Maldonado of Wichita, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. There was a viewing on March 13 at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair. The Funeral Mass will be today, Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair with Rev. Fr. Sotero Sena officiating. Pallbearers will be John Peralta Jr. Xavier Peralta, Jozani Peralta, Damien Peralta, Joshua Tafoya and Ablaza Miller. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Overall and Devin Pacheco. Burial will follow at the Mountainair Catholic Cemetery.
